Still Dry....

Greetings all!

I hope everyone has been safe these past few weeks. As I am coming up on my 1 month lockiversary, I'm still a little bummed about slippage. I have a few more that have slipped since my follow up. All that aside, I still have this dry scalp issue. I think I am going to try a ACV rinse this week with my wash. I have 2 more weeks until my first re-tightening, and I can't wait. I have so much new growth that it looks really puffy. My family really seems to like my hair and I am really excited about how it will look when it grows out.

More to come soon......

First Wash Disaster!

Well, I did my first wash yesterday...........
I'm not at all impressed. I braided and banded, used Neutrogena T/Gel for my flaky scalp, and SL starter shampoo for my locks. After the wash, I unbraided and I looked like a deranged Fraggle! Not only that, I had major slippage in the back and around the nape of my neck. I am so frustrated, I don't know what to do.
I also have the lovely "snowing indoors" problem. I have the flakiest scalp around these parts. I have tried essential oil and water in a spritz to no avail. Please, anybody that can help, I welcome all suggestions.....

All Done!

After 4 days and 2 consultants (16 hours total), my locks are finally installed! The "baldness" is still getting to me, but none the less, I'm so excited! Take a look at my pics!

Bad News!

I thought my Sisterlocks were going to be installed until my consultant called me right before our appointment and stated that she had to cancel. Needless to say, after a few minutes of being MAD and talking with another friend who had an experience that was worse than mine, I calmed down and my appointment is back to the weekend of 12/6-7.

My Transition

Here are some pics of my hair during my transition. I had a hard time deciding to actually go through with Sisterlocks. I loved my length and wanted to keep it, but it wasn't healthy and was falling out in the middle.

This one is a rod set with permed ends....

This one is right after my Big Chop! I was so nervous!

And finally.................My Testlocks (8 in total )

I'm so excited! My installation has been pushed up to this weekend! I will post pics as I progress!

Becoming Impatient

I am so frustrated now. I want to hurry and get my hair done. Between now and then, however, I have 8 test locks, and a nappy 'fro! I want to condition my hair sooooo bad, but I can't because I don't want the test locks to slip out. I feel that my scalp is so itchy and it's flaking really bad. I don't know what else to do......

Moving Closer....

Good evening.....

I spoke with my SL Consultant last night and we are confirmed for 12/6 and 12/7 for my installation. I asked her if she really thought that it would take 2 days and she said yes. I will just have to remember to bring lots to read and lots to listen to.

I wish my day was coming sooner, but it is what it is......

New Beginnings!

Greetings all!

This is my first post on my new blog! I am so excited that I am taking the journey into the world of Sisterlocks. I have a friend that has them and she agreed to become the tester for this hair adventure. I have recently been test-locked, and I must say, I like the way that Sisterlocks look and feel in my natural hair.

My 3-year old loves them also, and she is so excited to see the end result. I am going to upload the pics of my 'fro, as well as my test-locks and such.

Thanks for reading my ramblings.....
