Update!

Hello all!

It's been a long time since I blogged, but here I am! I have been working hard at school, and God-willing, I will graduate in May, 2011 with my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from Coppin State University!!!!!!

I have been DIY'ing my own hair for a long while now, and it is growing like a weed!

Here is my latest picture from late July (19 months locked)- enjoy, and I will be back soon!

14 Month Update!

Wow, it has been a long time since I updated this blog. I have some major updates to report.

(1) I have taken the SL retightening class, and have been retightening my own hair for about 3 months now
(2) I have returned to school as a full time college student
(3) While my baby girl is the only Princess in my life, we will be blessed in late May with our first Prince

As you can see, I have been quite busy! LOL. I have to get hubby to take new pics of my hair so I can post them...it's growing like crazy!

Later for more!

Update! 8 Months Locked!

Hello all!

It's been a couple of months since I blogged on my hair. It is growing like crazy, and even looking a little thicker. I am pleased so far.

Still have the buildup issue. I have no clue what it could be from, but I am determined to get rid of it!

I will post some pictures soon!

6 Months!

Well, its been a while since I have been blogging. I'm happy to say that I am officially 6 months Sisterlocked! My consultant has been taking great care of my locks! I have still had some issues with slippage and build-up, but I am taking it day by day. Take a look at my new pics and let me know what you think.

My Month 3 Pics!

Hey people! Here are my month 3 pics! I just got my hair re-tightened.

My hair is really growing and I found out that I have more locks than I thought. My consultant and I have done a count (kinda) and we found out that I have about 400-450 instead of the 350 that I thought I had.

I have also started a fitness blog. Please join me over there as well. I appreciate any kind words and help that you can give to that journey as well.....

Month 3 Update!

I have finally reached the 3 month mark! I am so happy! I don't have any good pics to share yet but I will have some in a few days. I also have a SL sighting to report.....

I recently went to the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, OH. It's mainly about bodybuilding, but they have some other events going on. Thursday night, we went to the Amateur Figure and Fitness competition and right in the lineup was a lovely lady with SISTERLOCKS! I was so happy that I texted my consultant right then and there! I said it would be great if I could meet her and say hi, but that night it didn't happen.

Well, Saturday afternoon, I saw her again. Her name is Lorna Cavin, and she is from CA. She is 50 years young! She doesn't look it at all! Here is your shout out Ms. Lorna! You did great this past weekend and it was a joy meeting you!

Also this weekend, I have a renewed spirit and am going to get back on the getting fit wagon! My goal is to look as good as the figure competitors that I saw this weekend. That would mean I would have to lose about 90 pounds. I am up for the challenge, and I could use any help and support that would help me reach my goal.

Enough rambling for now........off to wash my hair........

Month 2 YAY!

Well it's been 2 whole months since my journey began. I am so excited! My locks are coming along slowly but surely. My slippage is calming down and I am very impressed with my progress. I had my hair re-tightened by my consultant , and here are my pictures.......

My hair is growing like crazy! Now I have the build up issue in the back row of my locks. I don't use products on my hair. I have been washing with starter shampoo and Neutragena T-Gel. I have tried a Listerine and ACV rinse. My consultant thinks its the T-Gel. I don't think I can go the Brunsli route with the marker just yet ;-)

Any help is appreciated.....
